Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–12 am. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Asheville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Stopped into this place as tourists. The bartender either normally has the personality of a kumquat, or she was high herself. Not inviting at all. I didn’t know what Kava was and neither did my wife. When we asked what Kava was, she replied in a condescending manner, “You don’t know what that is?“ We reluctantly ordered some drinks. I had one of their orange Italian sodas with the “energy shot”. The only kind of “energy” that was in that drink was “low energy.” The place is filthy, cluttered (yes we can see the crappy mess behind the Chinese partition screens), and smells like weed. I think the scent of a smoke filled Denny’s in the 1970s would smell better than this place. If I had any recommendations for this place, I can only recommend that nobody ever go.

Went to Elevated Kava Lounge here in West Asheville for the first time today and absolutely loved it! The space has a comfortable light level and was on the quieter side at the time as most people were working on their laptops while enjoying their drinks. I got the capri-sun inspired seasonal special drink and loved the strawberry & kiwi flavor it had. I am on the shy side and still felt very welcomed and invited when sitting by myself at the bar with my game console. Thanks so much to the Kavatenders for making my first experience here a great one! I can assure you that I will be back here soon ♡

Elevated Kava Lounge…WOW. They mean it when they say “elevated”. As soon as you walk in off the street you’re greeted by a GORGEOUS oak and pine staircase. (Murals included) It takes you to the second floor of the building. A quick glance around, as you summit the top of the steps, shows an appreciation for the history of the location this kava bar occupies, as well as the state it’s located in. There’s 2 separate maps, painted onto the west wall, of the local area and of N. Carolina and Tennessee. These murals predate this kava bar and the bar that was here before it. The copper topped bar is beautiful and pays homage to the moonshiner culture that is native to these hills. I was fortunate enough to have Duncan as my kavatender the day I was there (12APR26). He has been with Elevated since day one. He’s a great guy and absolutely makes you feel at home. The kava is excellent. The kratom tea tastes fresh-brewed (because it is). The crowd of regulars is really the cherry on the cake. No one I spoke with treated me as an outsider. Instead, everyone felt like old friends, picking up old conversations. It really added to the cozy environment. I cannot praise this place highly enough.

This place is amazing. It's a great place to work during the day with wifi, coffee, nearby food, and plenty of power outlets, and then chill vibes all night with great people. Wednesday is open jam night. Happy hours are 8-9am and 2-4pm everyday.

Super cozy place, nestled in West AVL. Walking around is a breeze, plenty of food places to check close by & a gas station/ bank across the street. This place boasts an amazing staff, great parking/ hours & offers a variety of different types of drinks…plus this is one of their two locations, with the other being located in downtown AVL. I’m partial to this location, however, as West AVL offers a slower more casual pace. Plus, I am an introverted, creature of habit, who tends to lean more towards places with less hustle & bustle. Overall this location exudes just that, via its warm & always so welcoming, attentive staff. I do have a favorite, of the bartenders, Jadon, who typically works the night shift on Thursday/Sunday. Considering you are all but guaranteed a wonderful experience when he’s working; he is always kind to newcomers, thoughtful in how he greets both his new & seasoned patrons, super knowledgeable on the menu & more simply put, he is great at his job. Additionally, to all aforementioned, this lounge hosts a variety of events ranging from clothing swaps, local bands, open mics & the like, but if your not looking for entertainment…know that this lounge is also great f
